today we got back SS papers, FINALLY!
but i feel upset with the marks. i just borderline pass my grp proj, while others got imba marks in imba grping. i feel upset for the others as well :(
if i can change the IP grading system..
i feel that the IP grading system fails to reflect one's true abilites in fairness. dun give me the bull**** about "world is unfair". i dun take that. here we have less than 50% allocate to the final-year assessment. ok, consistency is good and ur marks won't plunge so badly in case you flung ur EOY.. fine, i buy that. but listen to my counter-arguments pls.

  1. if you've really been consistent in ur studies, the chance of that happening..it's tyco la.. and i am not saying that we shld totally allocate 100% to EOY result, i just feel that higher percentage shld be allocated to EOY.
  2. it's unfair when you allocate majority of the marks to anything before EOYs. Before EOYs, we have project work forming significant bit of our marks. trust me, some grping are just too imba and it's just unfair. we should not too much percentage of our results allocated there. dun get me wrong here, i like the idea of proj work, but, ya you got my point. diff people also have very diff CCAs. imagine having ur CA1 during SYF season, no joke man. and you see others having some super slack CCAs. it's not fair right? Dun get me wrong again. i love VJCO! yay, as the "cream of crop" ( a flattery for IP students), we do have certain ability to balance CCA and studies, but it's still not fair. different people have different absorption rate of what we have learnt( not literally putting ur notes beneath the pillow and hoping that it will diffuse into ur brain when you sleep ). hence, we may be slower in grasping what we have learnt. and i love what Mr. Goh said about tests and exams, that they are learning points, and we should learn from our mistakes and try to do better in the future.so you gonna include those hiccups as part of the majority of ur results?

Overall, i feel that a total of 40% is too small a percentage for EOYs. this is no joke when IP students are gonna have the result transcript as a substitute for O Levels cert.
i will like to thank my spiritual mummy and sister for their ecouragement. God is in control, yes i know even in IP.

hello!
i just feel that vjco is so much more bonded after SYF. thank God for His wonderful plans!
i am suffering from withdrawal symptom. i finally get to go home before sunset. LOL.but i suddenly feel that there's something missing in my life. i belive they feel the same too.
another side-effect is "dun feel like studying" symptom.
you noe what. i can't bother to pursue answers to doubts without hesitation. take this week for example (plus many other side effects from unknown whereabouts)
1. slept for ?? min in a two period econs lecture
2. almost dozed off to lalaland in physic lesson
3. dun bother to think deeper into how photosystems work
4. dun bother to do maths practice
5. increase in swearing (e.g.f***)
6. fatigue
7. went totally hay-wire after someone nag at me ( i lost my temper, that's bad)
8. evolving into an awesome slacker
ya lor, feel bad about all these. my temper remains as bad.
i dun see any significant improvement in myself as a person, esp in the aspect of self-control.
pls help get me out of this.

VJCO outing at ECP!

My heart seems to sink into a bottomless pit slowly when the result is announced.
Gold.
No one cheered. Everyone observed a moment of dead silence. Am I to cry or be ok with it? I dun noe. I put my hands together and asked God why is this happening. Gold? I remembered the morning when we gathered to pray together for CO.
I thank God for he has sort of answered our prayers. Our performance was quite good and we were quite confident that we could have at least achieved a gold award and I see a glimpse of hope for gold with honours.However. I could not help but become very upset. My nose turned slightly sour and my face was robbed of any expression. how I wish that she would have added:” with honours” at the back of our results. We practiced really hard. Though we prayed . “ regardless of them results. we would have played our very best and the Lord will take care of our emotions. I was not sure of the overall but I felt that we played quite well for that approximately fifteen minutes on stage. I thank God for that.
A mix of feelings and thoughts. I have sort of expected the gold award because we weren’t really impressive. but we can also possibly get gold with honours. We have the strength. We laboured. We prayed. Is it really because we were really not as good as we thought? I hate that belief. The conductor and his son told us that we played well on stage.
Ok. I am confused. Inevitably. the result is disappointing. Come again. the matter of pride. How are we gonna face others without a gold with honours?
But I thank God for the wonderful teachers. instructors and conductors. marvelous practices (and times we have fun). growth of CO’s strength. tremendous improvements we have achieve precious friendships established between members strength to strength. The process rocks because God is with us. Though we may have not created a “gold with honours CO” impression to the world yet. like what the teacher said. it’s just a medal of a competition. We have each other. I love VJCO!
