this is how my birthday was spent.
Initially, Kenrick, Ni Ming, Si Min, Jazz and Vivian had a birthday plan (i suppose) for me, based on th 3 key words from me:
backpack, exhilaration, friendship.
well, things didn't go as planned.
Lemuel is still in Melbourne with his family (won't be expecting him to fly back right? haha. he's forgiven since he wished me like dun noe how many times ten days in advance. haha.)
two day before my birthday, Hsien Liang asked me out on my birthday, saying the guys (v12 guys) wanna celebrate with me, go out lan+movie+lunch outing. i called ni ming immediately to ask him if they were part of the plan (that was meant to be a surprise, so i didn't know anything). ni ming, kenrick and hsien liang got it sorted out among themselves.
later on, things cropped up.
1. Si Min, Jazz and Vivian could not get out of their homes, probably due to Mid-Years coming (i guess)
2. Ni Ming got golf CIP, cannot spend my birthday with me.
3. Kenrick (at that time) said he's flying off on my birthday morning.
So they decided to let the guys celebrate with me on a lan+movie+lunch outing. i thought it was too "good" to be true. all of a sudden, everyone cannot turn up. they must be up to something. I haha-ed by myself.
today met up with the guys at plaza sing at 3.30pm. i was surprised to see kenrick. haha, he's flying tmr, not today.(not really surprised, because i was expecting them to turn up, i thought they were just wanting to give me a surprise)
to cut the long story short, i didn't feel like a birthday boy lah. it was just another normal lan+movie+lunch outing with the guys. in the game still steal my kill, screen my team. After the movie (The Incredible Hulk, which wasn't really incredible, just savage) at 9.30pm, they said they wanna treat me dinner some other day (prob after MY, 2 weeks from now). i dun see how it will ever happen and i could sense they won't really sincere about it. maybe it was too late for them? or too expensive for them? (kenrick suggested to the guys this restaurant which will cost a person about fifteen bucks. when he suggested it, i was very happy. haha. i love to eat good food.) they didn't treat me to lan or movie as well.
After the movie, kenrick never panseh me, walked with me to Orchard from the Cathay while the rest went home. why i wanted to walk to Orchard from Cathay and not go straight to dhoby ghaut MRT and head home? i just wanna spend my birthday outside home a bit longer. i felt a kind of "lack of satisfaction" feeling on a poorly spent birthday.
anyway, thanks kenrick, for spending my birthday with me. you made me feel special today. treated me to popcorn and drink in the cinema and walked and talked with me on the way to Orchard. THANKS KENRICK (:yes, as i am typing this post, i am feeling quite hungry. Nah, gonna sleep soon, not very good to feast before sleeping at night.
Backpack, i know yall (kenrick, niming, simin, vivian , jazz) have bought it for me. thanks for the backpack! (: dun get me wrong here, i am not blaming any of the four of you. i am just...disappointed. For a second at Orchard MRT, i thought yall have like BOO-ed me from th back and surprised me. silly me, still thinking everything is a lie and a giant surprise up till the very moment i was on my way home.
then again, i will be more than satisfied and feeling
exhilaration if i can just spend time with my
friends, just stoning or even studying, having your company on my birthday.
